Negatives and Positives of Exercise

Exercise can sometimes be looked at in a negative way. Past physical or athletic experiences may have help shaped this false outlook. Such as being punished with exercise or chosen last in a pick up game. Also being ridiculed or feeling embarrassed because of poor skill. It is no wonder so many people will not participate in sports or exercise. Who wants to do something that is associated with pain, punishment, or embarrassment? Obviously, not all people can excel in athletics, and it is easier for exercise to seem more like work rather then fun. There are plenty of ways to take this negative idea and put in back into a positive light. For example, work out with friends. They can help keep your mind focused on other things making your work out less tedious and more enjoyable. Also, set goals and strive to achieve them. That feeling of accomplishment is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and reaching your goals will not only make you feel great but look great! Then, reward your self for all your hard work. Remember to take baby steps, and not to be too hard on yourself. There are plenty of unconventional ways to get active so take the time to research things that you enjoy doing. Try to work those things into your exercise routine in order to mix things up and help prevent you from becoming bored. If you can get yourself past the hurdle of starting an exercise regime and sticking to it long enough to realize the benefits, you have succeeded at something crucial to the quality and longevity of your life.

* This is a complex message showing both sides of the argument
